This post is about the County Council hearing scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, September 19, 7:30 pm at Montgomery County Council Building, 100 Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850.
Why is it important? The hearing is about White Flint 2 Sector Plan, which envisions the future of the area between the White Flint Sector Plan area and the City of Rockville. Commercial properties, especially shopping centers along Rockville Pike, will be transformed into mixed-use urban places with targeted infill opportunities for the Executive Boulevard office park and two new neighborhood mixed-use centers in the Randolph Hills community.
For the families currently living in the Walter Johnson cluster, White Flint 2 Sector Plan Hearing is important because will address school capacity/overcrowding issues. However, the Planning Board has not directly recommended to reserve a land for a school. Families will be gathering in front of the Montgomery County Council Building to make their concerns heard.
